No New Posts Slytherin Dungeons

Somewhere in the heart of the labyrinth of passages in the dungeons lies a bare, damp stone wall. A concealed door slides open when the correct password is given.

The Slytherin common room is a low, long room with rough stone walls and ceiling. Round green lamps, hung from the ceiling with chains, light the room. In front of the door is a fire-place with an elaborately-carved mantelpiece. Carved chairs are dotted around the room.

No New Posts Potions

Down in the moist and drafty corridors of the dungeons, rather close to the secret entrance to the Slytherin Common Room, and through a dark and wooden door resides the Potions classroom. Here the students learn the precise art of preparing potions.

No New Posts Kitchens

The Kitchens have high ceilings and a great brick fireplace at one end. Mounds of brass pots and pans are heaped around the walls. There are preparation tables directly below the four house tables in the Hall above, and when the time comes for the food to be served, it is magically transported through the ceiling of the kitchen onto the plates.

No New Posts Entrance Hall

Double oak front doors, opening to the west to reveal a large, cavernous room, lit by torches, with ceiling so high it's barely visible. Wide marble staircase opposite the front doors lead up to first floor and your adventure can begin. Double doors to the right led into the Great Hall. On the east wall are two doors, one on either side of the staircase. To the north of the staircase is a door leading down a flight of steps to the first dungeon level. To the south is a door leading to the Hufflepuff common room and the kitchens. On the left is a door leading to a smaller antechamber where First Years wait to be sorted.

No New Posts Great Hall

A vast chamber with an enchanted ceiling which mirrors the sky outside is home to the Great Hall. Four long tables for the four houses sit in the middle of the room. Closest to the doors from the Entrance Hall is Slytherin, then Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff, and next to the far wall, Gryffindor. The teachers sit at the High Table, a table on a raised platform at the front of the room.

No New Posts Detention Hall

Adjacent to the Trophy room originally resided an empty classroom, which had been recently cleaned up a bit to serve as the official Detention Hall where students would serve their punishments. A word of caution to trouble makers, this is one place you do not want to end up in.

No New Posts Staff Lounge

Located on the ground floor you will find a long paneled room with many mismatched dark wooden chairs and a large wardrobe, sometimes inhabited by a boggart. The room, known as the Staff Room, is located off the Entrance Hall. Two stone gargoyle stands on either side of the door and they challenge any student who tries to knock on the door.

No New Posts Empty Classroom

The classrooms at Hogwarts are usually occupied with students and teachers, but once in a while there will be found an unlocked empty classroom where students can relax, do homework or plot their newest prank. For the loyal and hardworking. The Hufflepuff common room is a large circular room. Its soft carpet is a pale yellow and scattered around the room are dark mahogany tables and clusters of squashy armchairs with cozy settees.

The classroom itself is located on the Second floor at the very end near Moaning Myrtle's bathroom. The room is rather plain, with and has only three windows that overlook the Whomping Willow. In this class, students learn the art of turning one object into another at will.

No New Posts Moaning Myrtle's Bathroom

For over fifty years, since her death via basalisk, Moaning Myrtle has haunted this bathroom on the second floor - challenging just about anyone who dared to enter. No New Posts History of Magic

Amongst the students, History of Magic is not very popular due to the fact that most find the subject particularly boring. In this class, students focus on various aspects that contributed to the founding of the Magical World, as well as different magical civilizations that existed thousands of years ago.

No New Posts Dueling Chamber

Behind the statue of Boris the Bewildered on the fourth floor lies a small trap door, which leads to a dark tunnel. At the end of this tunnel is a similar door that leads to a vast room often used back in Hogwart's earlier years for dueling. The Hogwarts Staff know about this room, but few expect students to know.

Ravenclaw Tower, which is located on the west side of the castle; the entrance is a door at the top of a tightly winding spiral staircase that leads up from the fifth floor. The door has neither handle nor keyhole, but a talking bronze knocker in the shape of an eagle. Rather than asking for a conventional password, the knocker will ask a question; if answered correctly, the knocker will compliment the person on the answer and the door will swing open.

No New Posts Prefect's Bathroom

Inside, the bathroom's walls, floor, and single sunken bathtub are all made of white marble, lit softly by a candle-filled chandelier that impressed Harry on his first visit. The rectangular tub is the size and depth of a swimming pool, and even has a diving board, but unlike an ordinary pool the tub is lined with about a hundred taps, each with a differently colored jewel set into the handle. Each tap automatically releases not only water, but bubble bath (a different kind of bubble bath for each color-coded handle). A pile of fluffy white towels are kept in one corner.

Up seven flights of stairs and through a trapdoor with a small latter, one will find the Divination classroom in what little state of glory remains. Year round the room remains at an uncomfortable temperature, and the room is filled with tons of scented perfumes and aromas. At Midnight classes are held here, but during the day students often come up here for a good view.

Directly in front of the massive oak doors that guard the entrance to Hogwarts, a peaceful courtyard is nestled in to add a welcoming touch to the castle. Students can be found here in between classes or relaxing with friends. With tons of benches, a Victorian fountain in the center, and the covered bridge opposite the castle; it's a wonderful feature to have.

No New Posts Quidditch Pitch

Quidditch is the main sport and really the only sport that the Wizarding World has. So it would be an insult if Hogwarts didn't have a Quidditch Pitch. The stadium is huge and surrounded by stands that seat every single person in the school. There are also gold hoops at each end where the teams score.

No New Posts The Forbidden Forest

The forest has an almost enchanted look about it. A mist seems to hang above it and below and never seems to go. Many people avoid the forest as for fear of either getting told off, as it is out of bounds, or simply because they fear for their own safety. We may never know what creatures live in here

No New Posts London, England

London is the largest urban area in, and the capital of, England and the United Kingdom. An important settlement for two millennium, London's history goes back to its founding by the Romans. Since its settlement, London has been part of many important movements and phenomena throughout history, such as the English Renaissance, the Industrial Revolution, and the Gothic Revival. The city's core, the ancient City of London, still retains its limited medieval boundaries; but since at least the 19th century the name "London" has also referred to the whole metropolis which has developed around it.

No New Posts Diagon Alley

Tapping just the right brick in the wall behind the Leaky Cauldron in London ("Three up...two across...") will reveal an archway which is a portal into Diagon Alley, a long cobbled street where is to be found a strange and exciting assortment of shops and restaurants. It is unquestionably the hub of commerce in the British wizarding world, with virtually every wizarding business stationed there. Consequently, the demand for space here is steep, and rent costs loads of Galleons.

Down the long winding road of Diagon Alley, the air is fresh and people are always roaming around the shops with a cheery smile. Unfortunately, the same can not be said for Knockturn Alley -- a side street found near the end of the main road. Everything is dark and eerie, and the street is known as a gathering area for dark wizards. Very few with a pure heart venture here.
